Project Brief

The project aims to redesign a traditional hibachi restaurant to create a contemporary dining experience while preserving the essence of Japanese culinary culture. The redesign will focus on enhancing the ambiance, improving functionality, and elevating customer experience through thoughtful design elements.

Taste & Sea Redesign Goals

For this project, the goal was to take any local establishment in the area that we felt could benefit from a rebranding and come up with a unique take on their brand. I decided to go with Taste & See as they had just recently completely rebranded from Kaminari, a place I ate at often, and I thought their rebranding could use some work and have better coherency.

Logo Design

For the logo I wanted to create something that was clearly recognizable from a distance as a place that sells authentic sushi and hibachi. Since the name is Taste & See, I wanted to slightly change it to the sea and had fish to it for the sushi aspect while at the same time making the fish form and sushi roll form the shape of an eye for the see play on words.

Mockups for other design deliverables

The goal was to create extra deliverables with the same type of stylistic design choices in order to round out the entirety of the project as a whole. I designed to create take out boxes and chopstick designs as they would be crucial to the restaurants branding especially for customers that decide to order delivery or take-out.
